Daniel a été le premier garçon à faire une cassette à Alison.
Mais c'était il y a une éternité et Ali n'a pas pensé à lui depuis bien longtemps. Et pour cause, c'est elle qui avait pris la fuite à l'époque, laissant Dan sur le bord du chemin, sans explication.

Pendant deux exquises minutes, Ali n'est plus une adulte installée à Adélaïde, flanquée de deux adolescentes qui n'en font qu'à leur tête ; elle a seize ans, elle est à Sheffield, et elle danse dans son jean moulant. Elle ne peut s'empêcher de répondre à Dan par une autre chanson.
Et c'est ainsi que démarre une nouvelle playlist.
Ali et Dan s'échangent des morceaux - des vieux, des nouveaux - par-delà les océans et les fuseaux horaires, par-delà une vie entière d'expériences différentes. Et puis l'un d'eux enfreint les règles et envoie à l'autre un message qui va tout changer...
